Project Art Works leads the field nationally in pioneering visual arts projects for individuals with profound neurological impairments. From our experimental research base in East Sussex, we have been developing new projects and methodologies over the past 15 years. Our work involves a range of relationships and partnerships throughout the UK: from the individuals that we work with, their parents and support workers, to the social care sector, local authorities, art galleries and museums and on to major funders, government agencies, businesses and individual donors and volunteers.

In addition to our regular workshops, the services we provide are:

  • 1:1 workshops
  • Group participatory workshops
  • Professional development
  • Support for whole families
  • Advocacy and advice
  • Interventions to improve statutory care

And the resulting external programmes are:

  • Artistic collaborations
  • Exhibitions and events
  • Art On Loan

There are many opportunities to participate in what Project Art Work does: through using our services, as audiences for exhibitions and events, and through contributing directly by donating and through volunteering.
