As we step into 2018 there is a sense of excitement and trepidation.
As the funding landscape continues to shift, Project Art Works launches new partnerships with our ART ON LOAN programme that builds on our relationships in the corporate sector. Later this year we will be announcing a collaboration with Premier Inn Hotels who will display work by our artists and makers in eight hotels in the South East as part of a pilot project during 2018.
Work continues with national art organisations through the EXPLORERS Project encouraging meaningful collaboration and a greater presence of people with complex needs in cultural spaces across the UK. Through a series of encounters and awareness raising workshops, EXPLORERS connects social care providers with local artists, makers and cultural organisations. This year the programme will develop a number of new co-commissions and undertake a radical wilderness exploration during the autumn.
The PEER SUPPORT NETWORK picked up pace towards the end of 2017 and this year we hope to strengthen the relationships and work with families, social care providers and individuals to ensure we are providing the most useful outcomes. As the current network is based in Hastings we are working with external partners to look at developing similar networks in their areas.
PROPEL, the Project Art Works in house programme, continues to support artists and makers to access the supported studio space on a weekly basis. Solo shows, Arts Awards, field trips and film production are all planned for 2018 as well as the induction of new participants.
This year we celebrate 21 years of Project Art Works and start the celebration by welcoming you to the launch of our new studio space in ARCH 1. Through the refurbishment of the arch we are able to support more people and open the space to the community to hire. Join us on 16th February, 16.00 – 20.00, for an evening of art and music.
