Cherry Lane has worked with Project Art Works since she was in school. She enjoys a multi-sensory approach to working with paint – its touch, feel and texture. She tends to choose warm colours and works for long periods gradually relaxing and opening her hands and often leaning on canvases for better connection. Her images accumulate traces of the movements she makes with her hands and fingertips amidst larger gestures produced whilst pressing against the surface of canvas or paper.
Although it is not always clear when Cherry understands communication from others but her connection to people and space is always discernable. Often the most powerful means of expression can happen in silence, making contact through eyes, touch and the sensation of paint.
