The first Peer Support Network Summit took place at Project Art Works on 28 March 2018.

In the first half Laura Salter, Project Manager, Operational Development Team, Adult Social Care and Beverley Moores Operational Manager, Children’s Disability Services and Acting Strategic Lead, Children’s Services presented on Rates of Pay for Support workers and PAs.

Families, carers and individuals in receipt of Direct Payments shared their experience of finding the support they need and made recommendations to East Sussex County Council.

In the second half, Martin Sanford-Hayles, Assistant Director, and Tamsin Peart, Strategic Commissioning Manager for Adult Social Care & Health presented on the Council’s Adult Social Care Budget Cuts followed by a discussion with the Network.

Following the Summit, we prepared a statement on behalf of the Network which will outlined the impact of the cuts on individuals with complex support needs, their families, carers and support workers.
