Built over a period of seventeen years and containing over 2500 objects, the Project Art Works archive not only represents the rich history of the organisation but is also an inspirational collection of contemporary art available for loan.
The works in the collection have been created by Project Art Works participants and consist largely of paintings, prints and drawings which encompass a diverse range of approaches to image making: from figuration to abstraction. The collection is constantly expanding and is a ‘live’ and vibrant resource.
This initiative enables PAW to encourage corporate philanthropy through its most significant ‘donor asset’ (the archive) and also allows us to increase awareness about our work and the people we work with in this sector. In exchange for the exhibition we negotiate a donation with each business and this contributes significantly to the sustainability of Project Art Works and its wide ranging programmes.
Art On Loan exhibitions are curated in consultation with your staff and tailored to your organisation’s unique context. The exhibition package includes the transport and installation of the art works, interpretation texts and labels, and an introductory talk in your building about the collection.
