Visit 12 Claremont in Hastings between 11.00 – 15.00 on Saturday 25th March.
You can find 12 Claremont here.
Join Project Art Works alongside Hastings Commons, architects IF_DO and Purcell on the 25th March for a community consultation regarding the future of 12 Claremont – currently owned by Hastings Commons and now ready for the next stage of the renovations with support from the Towns Fund.
Local people are invited to share their thoughts on the intended uses of the historic building and become more involved with the space in the future. Have a look round, find out what’s happening, bring your ideas and see how you can be part of it.
Hastings Commons will be working with Project Art Works and heritage architects Purcell to transform the currently derelict 12 Claremont into a thriving creative hub. Work will be done to restore the original features of the building, along with creating artist workspace, respite accommodation and a Changing Places facility to enable neurodiverse artists and their support teams to access space in the town centre. There are also plans to create short-term overnight sleeping spaces for those coming to Hastings to learn about and get involved in community led regeneration.
This event is part of a wider consultation event being held by Hastings Commons and also includes Eagle House (27-29 Cambridge Road). Eagle House will also be open on the 25th March for the same consultation process.
12 Claremont is currently the home of Untitled Gallery where there is a revolving programme of exhibitions being presented in the window to animate the space.
