New Build by Project Art Works
Bethlem Gallery
28 January – 7 February

New Build is a Project Art Works residency in partnership with Bethlem Gallery. It is taking place here and also as a closed art-making residency at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust’s National Autism Unit (NAU).

The aim of the residency is to experiment with and research sensory art practices that can inform new art commissions for the NAU which centre accessibility, creativity and inclusion within neurodiverse spaces, and the wider evolution of the culture sector’s work in this area. Through documenting, reflecting on and learning from the ideas of those who engage with the studio, New Build explores how site-responsive art can play a key role in contributing to building accessible and inclusive neurodiverse spaces and enhancing and ‘humanising’ the clinical environment.

This exhibition is a live studio that invites participants and visitors to interact with the space and experience an environment informed by the strengths, interests and priorities of those who have engaged with it before them.
