Bear

Bear has recently joined the studio on a Tuesday. Bear favours drawing and painting but also likes the chance to try out different processes and work with a variety of materials.

They find inspiration in all sorts of things, but animals are often the subject of their work. They particularly like dragons because “well, they’re cool, aren’t they and you can do anything with them because they aren’t real.”

Sometimes Bear begins with a particular subject in mind, at other times the materials or colours on offer inspire an idea and the painting or drawing emerges in the process. They like working with bright colours but will work with any materials that are available and she where that leads them. They like to surprise themselves by seeing what happens with the end result.

Bear enjoys making digital art and home but being in the studio has allowed them to work on different scales, explore different processes and materials. They look forward to developing their practice as an artist at Project Art Works.
