PRESS RELEASE
08.05.2018
Project Art Works are delighted to announce that we have been awarded three-year funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s, More and Better programme.
At a time when social care services and funding are subject to substantial cuts across the UK, support of this nature provides positive affirmation of a commitment to vulnerable people. It also validates the programmes being delivered by Project Art Works and our partners that provide purposeful and creative environments for people who have complex support needs.
The funding supports two major projects.
- In 2019 the EXPLORERS project culminates in a 12 month programme of exhibitions with partners from across the UK and Sydney, Australia. Project Art Works is working in partnership with leading cultural organisations through art and conversation including awareness raising and encounter workshops, productions, commissions, exhibitions and seminars in collaboration with people who have complex needs and those who support them. Explorers-Illuminating the Wilderness 2017-20 (funded by the Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence programme):
- From 2020 The Paul Hamlyn Foundation funding will ensure the legacy of Explorers is developed to extend our work through our proposed new, public facing gallery in Hastings town centre. This will be an innovative showcase of work by neurodiverse artist and makers and realised in partnership with Heart of Hastings/Community Land Trust.
