Family Employer workshop, Wednesday 14th November, 2 – 4pm, Project Art Works
Join Peer Support Network families and share your experience of managing provision through personalised budgets or Personal Health Budgets or Direct Payments.
If you employ care and support staff (through a personal budget from health or social care), you can apply for funding (Skills for Care) for training for you as an employer or for your support staff. The funding can be used to cover the cost training and the cost of putting in place additional PA/ support worker cover to enable you to attend training.
This workshop will cover:
- Examples of successful self-directed care
- How to apply for funding through the Skills for Care Individual Employer Fund
- Specific training needs such as recruiting and managing staff, drawing up rotas and carrying out staff supervisions
We will be joined by families running self-directed care, trainers Theresa Hodge and Andrew Bruce from Disability Inclusion, Renee Jasper-Griffiths and Training and Development Consultant and East Sussex County Council.
