EXPLORERS Conference: Art, Rights and Representation
A two day event about neurodiversity, art and the politics of inclusion.

Join us at the newly reopened MK Gallery in Milton Keynes for a two day event to mark the culmination of three years of EXPLORERS, putting neurodiverse artists and makers at the centre of the conversation.
Be part of a collaborative, inclusive and progressive event examining rights, institutional empathy and how to support and nurture more diverse practice in contemporary visual art.

In the final year of EXPLORERS, a three year project led by Project Art Works, we reflect on what has changed, what needs to be done to achieve greater equality in visual art.
This event is aimed at curators, arts commissioners and professionals, academics and artists working across socially engaged fields such as rights, education and health, and those working in the social care sector and neurodiverse communities – regardless of what stage you are at in your career or practice.

Tickets
Project Art Works, MK Gallery and CVAN South East are committed to making this event as accessible as possible and that includes the cost to attend. If you have a restricted budget please take advantage of the lower cost ticket and if you are able to give a bit more please book the full price ticket. There are limited subsidised tickets available so please contact us if the cost of attending is a barrier and we will support how we can.

Taking place against a backdrop of increased hardship and intolerance toward disabled people, the aim of EXPLORERS is to develop positive relationships between cultural organisations and the social care sector and to reposition people who have complex needs at the forefront of mainstream culture. The programme led by Project Art Works is taking place with multiple partners and galleries including Autograph, Fabrica, De La Warr Pavilion, MK Gallery, National Institute for Experimental Arts UNSW, Photoworks and Tate Liverpool.
