The Peer Support Network is an initiative developed in direct response to a need articulated by the families that we work with. The network is open to families, carers, support workers and providers to share their knowledge and experiences of supporting individuals with complex needs.

Through talks, workshops, and open discussions between families, providers, and experienced support workers the forum will be an opportunity for sharing knowledge about personalised provisions and identifying information gaps. These gaps will be addressed through workshops or future forums and may include areas such as how to recruit, train, manage and retain skilled support workers. Families are encouraged to share experiences, both positive and negative, and to work together to explore how to develop and run a successful provision for the people they care for.

The Peer Support Network for 2018 will feature bi-monthly Network Catch-ups where we’ll work together to build on local intelligence and support each other to make informed decisions. We will host Network Summits throughout the year where we will facilitate discussions with providers, invite specialist speakers in health and social care and host practical workshops.
