Communications & Project Manager
Jessica is the Communications & Project Manager at Project Art Works, a supported studio of neurodiverse artists and activists based in Hastings. In this role, she leads communications across the charity, shaping how its work is shared with audiences local, nationally and internationally. She also manages the Project Art Works In Residence Gallery at 12 Claremont and runs the Art on Loan programme, which supports the organisation’s mission to champion neurodivergent artists through inclusive and accessible platforms.
Jessica has an extensive background in project management and communications, spanning the public, private and charity sectors. Prior to joining Project Art Works, she was Project Manager at Meanwhile Space, a national organisation focused on creating vibrant communities by bringing temporarily redundant spaces into productive use. There, she worked closely with local authorities, landlords and community groups, developing strong partnerships and navigating complex negotiations. Her experience in relationship building was invaluable in facilitating difficult conversations, aligning diverse interests and maintaining a focus on positive, sustainable outcomes.
Jessica is particularly interested in the power of building positive relationships and connecting people. She champions skill sharing with local stakeholders, recognising collaboration as a key driver of resilient and inclusive communities. Through her work at Project Art Works, Jessica has developed a deeper understanding of the care system and the profound impact political decisions can have on individuals and families living with fragile support structures. This experience has strengthened her commitment to advocacy and highlighted the importance and complexity of systems of care, support and representation.
