Leo Selby-Stocker

Back to The Collective

“I like to draw or paint pictures of things I like to draw. I like making animations and trying out new ways of being creative.” Leo often enjoys drawing about her favourite childhood TV programmes such as Paw Patrol and Little Einsteins.

Leo explores a range of media including acrylic paint, oil pastels, charcoal, and adapted drawing tools, working on paper and canvas. She is interested in making art at different scales and has recently created large-scale pieces on primed Fabriano using different colours to paint multiple layers. She likes using a broad range of colours because it makes her work very “beautiful and trendy.”

Leo loves coming to Project Art Works because it helps her feel happy, particularly because she enjoys meeting new people. Leo has an art shed at home and mainly uses this when family and friends are visiting, as she prefers to make art communally rather than when on her own.

Leo’s creative style is developing since she started at Project Art Works and is progressively different from college.

In the future, Leo would like to make more sculptural work and has plans to construct a large three-dimensional musical note piece.
