Tuesday 30 January, 1:00 – 3:00pm
Join us for the first Peer Support Network catch-up of the new year and connect with others over tea and coffee. Network catch-ups are an informal and relaxed opportunity to meet other families, carers and support workers and share experiences of supporting individuals with complex needs.
Bhavesh Wader, Specialist Advisor in Continuing Healthcare from Beacon will be joining us and presenting on the assessment process for Continuing Healthcare (CHC) including:
– Eligibility Checklist – how to find out if a person qualifies for CHC
– The National Framework and Decision Support Tool for assessing Continuing Healthcare
– How a full assessment should be correctly carried out by Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs)
– Appealing CHC eligibility decisions
Bhavesh will be offering short 1:2:1 consultations for families and carers to sign up to during the catch-up meeting.
Help map social care provision in Hastings
We have been working on a Social Care Map for Hastings and the surrounding area which we will be sharing during the catch-up before publishing on our website.
Over recent months, Project Art Works have been mapping social care provision across the country in different cities as part of the Explorers project, a three year programme of work connecting cultural venues, galleries and people with complex needs. We welcome feedback from the network to help develop the map so that it can be used as a resource for families and carers in identifying care providers, agencies and useful contacts in Hastings and the surrounding area.
