During the last few years Project Art Works have been fund raising for the development of our Arches studio spaces in Hastings. In 2022 we also purchased Trinity Hall, formally a Victorian school located next door to the arches, which has been undergoing significant refurbishment.
In 2025 the buildings are starting to take shape and by the end of the summer 2025 we should be announcing the reopening of the arches and the completion of Trinity Hall.
Renovations will greatly improve the Arches, resurface the front yard and provide completely new studio spaces in Arch 3.
As part of the funding for the site we have received over £70,000 for a lift and Changing Place facilities from the Hastings Skills Capital Fund.
The funders for the Arches development are: Arts Council England, Wolfson Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, Clothworkers Foundation, Foyle Foundation, and Levelling Up Partnership funding (who have also funded some of the development work at Trinity Hall as well as the Architectural Heritage Fund).
At Trinity Hall in 2025 there will be a substantial amount of work completed to the outside spaces. Levelling of entrances will be made to make it more accessible and the planting of a green public garden will transform the site. Work will start in March and we hope to be completed by the end of May.
