‘Hello Halo’ is a new work composed by Ruby Colley for Exaudi Ensemble. The composition has been devised with her brother, Paul Colley, who is non-speaking & is an artist at Project Art Works. The process examines the intimate complexity of neurodiversity and sibling relationships as well as unconventional methods of communication.
Collaborating with Paul has informed a compositional score formed of memories, sounds and non-language based communication. It explores the intimate dynamics of caregiving and sibling dynamics alongside alternative communication methods.
Here is a trailer for the film about Hello Halo.
“The full film will be shown at Royal Liverpool Philharmonic this Thursday 26th September. It gives context to a broad & complex project about Ruby’s non-speaking brother Paul & his unique world of communication. Unfortunately due to illness, the incredible Kirsteen Mcnish can no longer attend… but the excellent Mike Neary will be stepping in talk with me about this new project ahead of its premiere with EXAUDI Vocal Ensemble in February.”

Kings Place, London | 1st Feb | 3pm & 7pm. Book tickets here.
