Across a three-week period in November and December 2013, we delivered a one-day staff awareness workshop and four days of practical workshops (two sessions per day) based in the DLWP studio, the gallery spaces and surrounding spaces.
The staff awareness workshop launched an ambitious collaboration project between the DLWP, Project Art Works and people who have complex needs and their support networks. It was designed to introduce staff teams at the DLWP to the key concepts of the project and to prepare them for direct and creative work between staff, Project Art Works artists and young people and adults who have severe intellectual disability; and who will have an increasing, inclusive and positive presence at the DLWP for the duration of the collaboration and beyond.
