Carl Sexton has an established painting practice within the Project Art Works studio in Hastings. Carl works on multiple scales using paint pens, brushes and sponges to build images from dense clusters of marks. He embraces pattern, colour and physicality, both in process and in finished works.
Carl works with joyous intensity to create works that bring people together and stimulate conversations, with and without words. In this way Carl’s identity, as expressed through his practice and its outputs, bridge ethnic and neuro-cultures to create opportunities for understanding, healing and celebration.
In 2023 Carl’s family were featured in the film KIN, directed by Tim Corrigan and Esther Springett. KIN has been submitted to international film festivals.
