This Spring, artist/makers from Project Art Works took part in a group residency at Rye Harbour Discovery Centre in East Susssex. The residency offered Project Art Works artist/makers space in which to explore their creative processes, in particular in relation to the natural world.

As well as making work, artist/makers were able to explore the surrounding landscape and nature.

The artists taking part in the residency included Charlie Stephens, Charlie Thomas, Gabby R, Neville Jermyn and Will Shepperd.

The Discovery Centre is an accessible hub for Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.

Visiting the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve on Mondays throughout March, Charlie Stephens took on the role of gathering images and film of the experience through our blog and social media channels.

“We are really pleased to welcome Project Art Works to Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and Discovery Centre. It’s exciting to be able to help interpret our special wildlife and landscape to the artists and we’re looking forward to seeing how they work, and the end results!” Lucy Bowyer, Senior Communities and Wildlife Officer, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
